measures 4" wide by 5½" long, the toes are 2½" long, and the width
of the heel is 1½". |

Photo K4 is a similar closeup of a footprint,
except note there is a faint trace of a smaller footprint in the
upper right corner – this smaller footprint is from the same animal. |

Photo K5 shows a willow twig that the animal
munched on as it made its way through the marsh. The tracks
meandered through thick brush, mud & water in the marsh. |

tracks ended when they entered a burrow at the water’s edge – the burrow
is shown in Photo K6 and was about 10" wide. |
